Will Samson is a singer songwriter who genres could be defined as acoustic, punk, indie folk, indie rock and anti folk. He is well known for his protest songs and his social awareness which threads its way through his lyrics.
Will's influences include Billy Bragg, Bob Dylan, Frank Turner, Gerry Cinnamon and Will Varley to name a few.
Will is the antidote to blinkered opinions, and closed minded views and feels that there is not enough people speaking about the things that matter in life, such as social inequality, and the right to be human and to make mistakes. this is where Will comes in.
He has a knack of taking, serious and often dark subjects and making it upbeat and almost happy sounding, that is infectious and will make you want to singalong and join in.
Will’s music is extremely honest as he makes his way through his set talking about his own life and mistakes, as well as his own experiences of inequality as a council estate kid who lived on the wrong side of the social divide growing up in the outskirts of Glasgow and having to make the most of what you have when you don’t have much.
As the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in various punk bands Will has honed his skills playing in small music venues throughout London and the south east, and now he is his own man playing the only way he knows how, giving it to every audience that he plays too straight and to great reviews time after time, show after show.
